Instructions for use of diamond reamer :

(1) Correct selection of reamer

The diamond reamer is suitable for reaming non-ferrous and non-metallic materials such as cast iron, steel and aluminum.

In the selection of reamer structure, there are two types of fixed diamond reamer and adjustable diamond reamer. In use, in order to extend the life of the reamer, the reamer of the above two structures can be used in combination. The coarse and semi-precision reaming uses an adjustable diamond reamer, and the fine reaming uses a fixed diamond reamer.

(2) Choose a reasonable machining allowance

Generally, it should not exceed 1/3-1/4 of the particle size of the abrasive itself, otherwise the diamond reamer will be stuck in the workpiece hole due to excessive chip accumulation, which will reduce the life of the tool.

For diamond reamers with a grain size of 80/100-100/120, the machining allowance is controlled within 0.02mm-0.04mm.

For diamond reamers with a particle size of 170/200-230/270, the machining allowance is controlled within 0.015mm-0.025mm.

325/400 fine-grained diamond reamer, the machining allowance is controlled within 0.005mm-0.01mm.

(3) The number of reciprocating times of the reamer in the hole should not be too much

Under normal circumstances, one reciprocating trip is enough. At present, many operators use this kind of diamond reamer as a grinding rod, because an excessive increase in the number of reciprocations will reduce the life of the diamond reamer.

(4) Choose a reasonable cutting fluid

When reaming a cast iron hole, a mixture of 80% kerosene and 20% sulfide oil or mechanical oil can be used as the cutting fluid, or all kerosene can also be used.

When processing steel parts, 70% kerosene and 30% sulfurized oil can be used.

(5) Reasonable use

In order to improve the life of the diamond reamer, the new reamer can be used for rough reaming. Generally, after reaming 5000 to 6000 holes, it is changed to a fine reamer to use blunt abrasive particles to squeeze and polish the workpiece. This not only reduces the surface roughness, but also increases the life of the reamer more than doubled.
